Pediatric Anesthesiology

Welcome to the University of Connecticut Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a 147-bed facility, which includes: a 32-bed neonatal intensive care unit, an 18-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 97 medical/surgical beds (including our inpatient unit at St. Mary’s Hospital), 7 operating rooms, an endoscopy suite, cardiac catheterization lab, an ambulatory surgery center in Farmington, a pediatric pain clinic, and a 24-hour pediatric emergency department. In 2015 we performed over 11,000 anesthetics, including: cardiac, neonatal emergencies, regional anesthesia, and much more. Most importantly the anesthesiologists and surgeons at CT Children’s are a great group of people who are dedicated to teaching. The UConn anesthesia residents have awarded numerous teaching awards to the anesthesiologists at CT Children’s. The University of Connecticut serves as the sponsoring institution for this fellowship. Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program offers the resources of a university-sponsored fellowship combined with the clinical variety and volume of cases at CT Children’s. The teaching faculty includes 15 board certified pediatric anesthesiologist.

Our focus is directed toward comprehensive training that molds a well-rounded perioperative physician and consultant in pediatric anesthesiology. This is accomplished by a three-pronged approach to training that strives for clinical excellence, academic achievement, and scholarly activity. This basic philosophy prepares our fellow for careers in either academic medicine or private practice.

We welcome your interest in our fellowship program, and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
