Theater & the Arts

Connecticut has long been celebrated as a region that is rich in culture and the arts with entertainments and diversions ranging from internationally known art museums to Tony-award winning theaters, and symphony and dance.

Broadway magic spellbinds at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, which is also home to music concerts, lectures, occasional films, and dance. Exciting original productions can be seen at regional theaters including Hartford Stage, Long Wharf Theatre, and TheaterWorks. The Goodspeed Opera House is internationally acclaimed for its musical revivals and original works.

Concert venues for live music include the Bushnell, MGM Grand at Foxwoods casino, the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun casino, the XFinity Theatre, Summerwind and the XL Center. Smaller venues include numerous local bars and clubs.

Hartford Symphony, CONCORA and the Hartford Chorale offer entertainment for lovers of classical music and symphony pops.

You'll soon see why Hartford ranks in the top 6 percent in North America for its arts and culture.
